- Ideal sound pickup
- A record has more than 600 sound grooves of 120μ wide, with irregular spacing depending on the size of the audio signal. Therefore, the tonearm must be able to move lightly and smoothly to the next sound groove and transmit only the signal engraved on the record without being affected by unnecessary vibrations. In addition, since the cutting race moves in a straight line during the record making process, it is ideal that the cartridge also moves in a straight line. The AFU1-2 has an air floating structure that absorbs unnecessary vibrations while moving smoothly with the force of air. In addition, the linear tracking system provides an ideal pickup that follows the same trajectory as record cutting, eliminating tracking errors between the outer and inner circumference. * Requires optional air supply POU2 and arm attachment (sold separately).
- Air Float Structure
- Mechanical vibrations traced by the needle tip are reflected back through the stylus, cartridge body, shell, and arm at the mechanical contact points and returned to the needle tip, adding even something other than the original audio signal. The AFU1-2's air-floating structure damps unnecessary vibrations from the needle tip and external sources, and transmits only the vibrations emitted by the needle to the generator coil.
- Linear Tracking
- The AFU1-2 adopts linear tracking, the same as the cutting race used in the record production process. The smooth movement of sound grooves by the air floating structure enables stable tracing even with the linear tracking method.
